Where Athletes
Meet Their Data. Performance testing — Kigali, Rwanda

Most athletes train for years without ever knowing why they're improving or why they're not. As a competing athlete and performance practitioner, I'm bringing lab-grade ForceDecks testing directly to athletes and coaches. The data exists. Now it's accessible.

01
Systemic Thinking
Training as part of a larger process in collaboration with coaches, physiotherapists, and sports doctors. The whole athlete, not just the numbers.
02
Analysis → Results
Motor preparation based on data, not templates. Every decision comes from analysis, dialogue, and the real needs of the athlete in front of us.
03
Process over Promises
Every target - Return to sport, pre-season readiness, improved movement quality - measured and built to last.

01
Performance Tracking
Measure force output, jump height, power, velocity, and RFD (rate of force development) with lab-grade precision. Track progress across weeks, months, and seasons with objective numbers.
02
Injury Prevention
Detect asymmetries between limbs (left and right) before they become injuries. ForceDecks identifies imbalances that predict injury risk, so you act before it's too late.
03
Return to Sport
After injury, ForceDecks gives objective benchmarks for when an athlete is truly ready to return. Eliminate guesswork with limb symmetry indices and force thresholds.
04
Fatigue Monitoring
Repeated testing across a training block shows how the neuromuscular system responds to load. Detect accumulated fatigue before performance drops or injury strikes.
05
Talent ID & Benchmarking
Compare athletes against position-specific benchmarks. Give coaches the data to make selection and development decisions with real confidence.
06
Coach Empowerment
Results translate into clear, visual reports coaches can act on immediately. Training loads, exercise selection, and recovery informed by data, not gut feeling.
Protocols & Assessments

Tests Conducted

Each protocol is selected based on the athlete's sport, position, and goals. Every session captures a complete physical picture.

CMJ
Countermovement Jump
The gold-standard test of lower-body explosive power. The athlete drops into a quick squat then explodes upward. The force plates capture every millisecond of the movement. The resulting curve tells us far more than jump height alone.
Captures: jump height, peak power, impulse, braking phase, propulsive phase, left-right asymmetry, landing forces,... and many more.
IMTP
Isometric Mid-Thigh Pull
A maximal-effort pull against a fixed bar. One of the most reliable measures of whole-body strength. Critically, it also reveals how quickly that strength can be expressed, which is what actually matters in sport.
Captures: peak force, rate of force development, force at 100ms & 200ms, left-right symmetry, strength deficit index,... and many more.
DJ / RSI
Drop Jump & Reactive Strength Index
The athlete drops from a box and rebounds immediately. RSI: the ratio of jump height to contact time. It's one of the most powerful predictors of sprint speed and reactive athleticism. It reflects tendon stiffness and neuromuscular efficiency in a single number.
Captures: RSI score, contact time, flight time, stiffness index, plyometric capacity, ground reaction forces,... and many more.
20+
Metrics captured per session
Three tests. Over twenty data points. Force-time curves, bilateral comparisons, velocity traces, and asymmetry indices, all combining to build a complete physical profile of the athlete that no coach's eye can replicate.
  • Force-time curves that reveal technique flaws invisible to the naked eye
  • Bilateral asymmetry that flags injury risk before pain appears
  • Power and velocity outputs benchmarked against sport-specific norms
  • Neuromuscular fatigue indicators tracked across a training block
  • Return-to-sport clearance thresholds based on objective limb symmetry
Many more additional protocols available: SJ, SL-CMJ, Hop Tests, and sport-specific batteries on request. Full test selection discussed at booking.

Questions

Frequently Asked

Everything you need to know before booking your first session.

What happens in a first session?+
Your first session begins with a brief conversation about your sport, goals, and any injuries. I then walk you through a standardised warmup, explaining each test, and conduct the full ForceDecks protocol. Sessions take 40–60 minutes. Within 48 hours you receive a full report with your results, force-time curves, benchmark comparisons, and a written analysis of what the data means for your sport and goals.
Who is performance testing for?+
Anyone who moves athletically and wants to do it better or safer. Competitive athletes at any level, recreational sport players, athletes returning from injury, and coaches who want objective data on their squad. Testing applies to all sports: volleyball, basketball, football, athletics, rugby, swimming, and more.
Can I be tested if I'm currently recovering from an injury?+
Yes — this is one of the most valuable applications of ForceDecks. There is a selection of appropriate protocols (single-leg tests, hop tests) that can be safely conducted during recovery. The results give you and your physio/doctor objective data on limb symmetry and readiness, removing guesswork from the return-to-sport timeline.
What's the difference between one session and a monthly programme?+
A single session gives you a full picture of where you are right now, force output, asymmetries, power profile, benchmark comparisons, and a written analysis. A monthly programme (minimum 2 sessions/month) adds ongoing monitoring, a motor skills assessment, and a personalised supervised training programme built around the weaknesses identified in your ForceDecks results.
How does team testing work logistically?+
For team sessions, I come to your training facility with the necessary gear or an agreed location. Each player goes through their individual protocol — typically 10–15 minutes per player. A full squad of 12–15 athletes can be tested in a single session. The team receives individual player reports and a squad-wide summary showing asymmetries, force profiles, injury risk flags and a more information depending on the type assessment conducted.
What does the supervised training programme include?+
The programme is built directly from your ForceDecks results and motor skills assessment. It targets specific deficits. For example, if your right limb shows lower peak force and higher contact time, the programme emphasises unilateral strength and reactive work for that limb. I supervise sessions, adjust loading week-to-week, and re-test regularly to track progress.
What is VALD ForceDecks and why does it matter?+
VALD ForceDecks is a dual force plate system used by over 500 professional sports organisations worldwide, including EPL clubs, NBA teams, Olympic programmes, draft combines and many more sports organizations. Unlike gym assessments or visual observation, ForceDecks gives exact numbers: peak force in Newtons, rate of force development, asymmetry percentages, and detailed force-time curves. Athlete Pulse is the first to bring this technology to athletes in Rwanda.
Why It Matters

The gap between
good and great
is measurable.

Every world-class sports programme runs on performance data. Coaches at the highest level don't guess about training loads, selection, or injury risk. They use numbers. That infrastructure has not been built in Rwanda. Until now.

Athlete Pulse exists to close that gap. Not with generic advice or expensive gym memberships, but with the same force plate technology used by 500+ professional clubs worldwide, operated by someone who also competes.
01
Coaches stop guessing
Training load, selection, return-to-sport. Basically every decision that used to rely on intuition now has a number behind it. That changes outcomes.
02
Injuries caught before they happen
A >15% asymmetry between limbs significantly elevates injury risk. ForceDecks finds it. Targeted training fixes it before the athlete goes down.
03
Progress becomes visible
Hard work should show up in the numbers. Re-testing at regular intervals makes progress undeniable and makes excuses impossible. You either improved or you didn't.
04
World-class tools, local access
EPL clubs. NBA teams. Olympic programmes. They all use VALD ForceDecks. Rwandan athletes now have access to the exact same system.
05
Training built around you
Not a template. Not a generic programme someone copy-pasted. A plan built from your own force curves, your own asymmetries, your own sport.
06
Tested by someone who competes
I don't just run the tests, I train, compete, and understand what the numbers feel like from the inside. That context is what makes the difference.

Your Data.
Your Edge.

Stop training blind. Book a session with Athlete Pulse and find out exactly where you stand and exactly where you're going.
